Tillandsia 'Royal Sceptre' vipp 10-16 but has never been commonA cultivar of a hybrid by Mark Dimmitt of Tillandsia ferreyrae x bulbosa, named by N. Wong. Taller and larger and leafier than bulbosa, but most resembling that parent. A handsome plant with an egg shaped, bulbous base and terete leaves that are mostly upright and somewhat wavy. Green with a slight veneer of silver trichomes, it blushes red on the upper leaves at anthesis. The inflorescence is tall, but not as tall as the foliage and bright reddish.
